Taylor official decoding page: current 10-digit serials (from Nov 2009) encode factory (1 = El Cajon, 2 = Tecate), the production start date, and that day sequence - example 1107064001 = El Cajon, 6 July 2014, guitar 001 that day. 2000-Oct 2009 11-digit serials start with the four-digit year, then month and day, then a series code. 1993-1999 used 9 digits decoded the same way with a two-digit year. Serial location: on the back label inside the soundhole (1999-present).
