Our verdict
Fender Play for absolute beginners on a budget; Guitar Tricks if you want song depth and a real refund safety net.
Fender Play is cheaper ($19.99/mo, $149.99/yr vs $29.95/$179), built for beginner-to-intermediate players with short lessons, and annual members get 10% off Fender gear - but its terms allow no refund for a partial period. Guitar Tricks offers 11,000+ lessons, 1,000+ songs, a 14-day trial and a 60-day guarantee. Editorial recommendation based on price/features only - not hands-on testing.
